The Board Leadership Society's memberships

The vast majority of The Board Leadership Society's members are experienced board members, but also executive board members, management members with contact to the board, top officials, top politicians, professors, etc. can be admitted, and company representatives for the association's corporate members often consist of both board and executive management. Read about the association's statutes here. Clause 4.2 explains the eligibility criteria relevant to Personal Membership.

Personal membership

As a member, you can participate in the association's 14 annual conferences, which provide a professional forum for further development of your board competences. There are opportunities to network with people on other boards.

With a corporate membership, the company's board and management members can participate in the Board Association's 14 annual events. In addition, the company gets a place in the Board Association's Corporate Governance Network.

Corporate membership

With a corporate membership, company board and management members can participate in the association's 14 annual events, which provide a professional forum for further development of the individual's board competences and networks. Corporate membership gives access to a place in the Danish Board Association's Corporate Governance Network. The network brings together companies responsible for board service and the development of board work. For the participants, it is both a professional and personal network.

Companies of all ownership types and sizes can become members of Bestyrelsesforeningen. Current members consist mainly of C25 companies, other listed companies, fund- and family-owned companies, institutional investors, commercial funds, advisory companies, leading business organisations and publicly owned companies/organisations.

The Board Association operates on a non-profit basis. The association's member companies contribute to covering the association's costs for conference activities. However, it is also the company contribution that enables the development of initiatives such as ecoDa and the cyber project, both of which help to strengthen the competitive conditions for Danish business. Many member companies' board members and executives also choose - on an ad hoc basis - to contribute with speeches, dialogue and knowledge development in connection with the association's professional events.

Personal membership

The basic criterion for personal membership is experience with professional board work and/or that you have completed a relevant board education program. In particular, Danish board education at CBS Board Education, Børsens Bestyrelsesuddannelserne, and DTU as well as international board education from recognised educational institutions are considered relevant. We think you have the desire to further develop yourself professionally and to be part of the large network of board professionals in the environment around The Board Leadership Society. 

The Board Leadership Society's many events provide a professional forum for your further development. 12-14 professional events annually ensure that you as a member have the opportunity to stay updated with learning and perspectives from leading board professionals, companies, and professors. And there is a broad framework for networking based on The Board Leadership Society's many members.
