Board and executive remuneration
Thursday 18 June 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
Porcelænshaven 22, 2000 Frederiksberg
Board remuneration is a dilemma. What do we actually pay boards for? Can and should interests between shareholders, boards, and management be aligned using variable remuneration? Do governance concerns mean that variable remuneration for boards is a bad idea? Does variable remuneration mean that the board's focus becomes too short-term? Do companies with variable remuneration for boards perform better? Is there sufficient correlation between board remuneration and company performance? Can greater personal board liability and increased risk justify different remuneration compared to, for example, the USA?

Chair of the Year 2026
Thursday 25 June 15:30-18:00.
CBS, Ovnhallen, Porcelænshaven 20, 2000 Frederiksberg
Chair of the Year celebrates excellent board leadership that strengthens long-term value creation and responsible governance. The award is presented to a board chair who, with strategic judgment and high integrity, has created significant value, both within their own organisation and in Danish business.
Board work is increasingly affected by global and European shifts, which place new demands on strategic focus, responsibility, and priorities. The Chair of the Year Award 2026 will focus on how this is translated into concrete board leadership.

Purpose and vision
The Board Leadership Society has approximately 1,000 members from a large board network. As a member, you have free access to meet other board members 12-14 times throughout the year at our professional conferences.
The Board Leadership Society promotes its vision and ambition by organizing conferences, competence development and training of board members, participating in development projects, participating in international cooperation, and networking activities.
Networking
The purpose of The Board Leadership Society is - on a non-profit basis - to work to improve the qualifications of board work in Danish companies, organizations, and institutions and to develop professional board work as a profession and subject area. This includes national and international cooperation.
Our vision is to contribute to value creation in companies and for owners, stakeholders and society. And to contribute to knowledge and competences within board work and corporate governance becoming a competitive parameter for Denmark, Danish companies and for the benefit of the individual board and management member.
Conferences
The Board Leadership Society's many conferences focus on classic themes such as value creation, governance, board leadership, trends in board work, and current topics. See the next three conferences below. The full conference program for the half-year can be found on the member page. As a member, you have the opportunity - through participation in the association's events - to keep up to date with the board's perspective on important topics, such as the board's tasks and work with AI, ESG, the board's geopolitical considerations, trends and challenges in executive remuneration, risk management, etc. Every year, you are invited to the association's New Year's Eve party and Foundations Day.
At The Board Leadership Society's events, a topic is typically approached from a variety of perspectives - academic angles with participation from professors, board chairs, board members, top advisors in the relevant field, etc. And we value dialogue across faculty and with participants. At most conferences, you can choose between physical and virtual participation.
Most conferences take place between 17:00 and 19:00, but a small number of conferences are typically of longer duration and may be scheduled at other times. Occasionally there will also be short Board Briefs, typically between 9.30 and 10.30.
